Correct answer: (D) 2000

Explanation

The first gear stage multiplies torque by $48/12=4$. Its shaft drives another 12-tooth gear, which drives 60 teeth, multiplying torque by 5. With no losses, $$T_{\rm out}=100\frac{48}{12}\frac{60}{12}=2000\ \mathrm{N\,m}.$$ Answer **D**.
