Explanation

The groups have one,two and three letters, with alternate alphabet letters within each group. Their last positions are2(B),8(H),16(P); increments are6 then8, so the next last position is26(Z). The four alternate letters ending there are **T,V,X,Z, C**. The intervening omitted letters follow the same grouping pattern.
