Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: 0.79 to 0.81

Explanation

A metric thread has 60° included angle. Best-size wire contacts the flanks at the pitch line, with $d_w=p/[2\cos30^\circ]=1.4/\sqrt3=0.80829$ mm. Rounded: **0.81 mm**. The official accepted interval ends at 0.81.
