Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: (C) 24
Explanation
For total distance D, the times are D/120, D/120 and D/40, corresponding to distances D/2,D/4,D/4. Total time is D(1/120+1/120+1/40)=D/24 hours. Thus average speed is 24 km/h, C; averaging the three speeds directly is inappropriate.
