Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (B) 1:2

Explanation

Work equals hourly efficiency multiplied by hours per day and days. Let E's efficiency be r and E's days be d. Then E contributes 12rd.

M has efficiency 2r, daily hours 6 and days d/2, contributing $2r\cdot6\cdot d/2=6rd$. Hence M:E=6:12=**1:2, B**.
