The two-room foundation excavation shown has uniform trench width 1.10 m and cumulative centreline length 41.10 m. Concrete depth is 0.30 m. Find concrete volume in m³, to two decimals.

Correct answer: 13.20 to 13.20

Explanation

The central crosswall meets the perimeter at two T junctions. Deduct half the trench width at each junction from the summed centreline length:41.10−2×0.55=40.00 m. Volume is 40×1.10×0.30=13.20 m³. This prevents counting the two junction overlap areas twice.
