Consider the network shown below with $R_1=1\ \Omega$, $R_2=2\ \Omega$ and $R_3=3\ \Omega$. The network is connected to a constant voltage source of 11 V.

The magnitude of the current (in amperes, accurate to two decimal places) through the source is ________.

Correct answer: 8

Explanation

Reducing the symmetric resistor network between the source terminals gives an equivalent resistance of $1.375\ \Omega$, so the source current is $\frac{11}{1.375}=8$ A (the official key is 7.9 to 8.1).
