When assembled, the hole $30^{+0.030}_{+0.000}$ mm and shaft $30^{+0.020}_{-0.020}$ mm will result in

  1. loose fit
  2. interference fit

Correct answer: (C) transition fit

Explanation

The hole size ranges from 30.000 to 30.030 mm and the shaft from 29.980 to 30.020 mm. The largest clearance is $30.030 - 29.980 = 0.050$ mm and the largest interference is $30.020 - 30.000 = 0.020$ mm. Since both clearance and interference can occur, it is a transition fit.
