A canal command area grows only wheat, with base period 120 days and total water requirement 40 cm. At canal discharge 2 m³/s, find irrigable area (hectares), neglecting losses and rounding to the nearest integer.

Explanation
Delivered volume is $2(120)(86400)=20736000$ m³. Divide by 0.40 m irrigation depth: area is 51840000 m², or **5184 hectares**.
