Kharif irrigation intensity is 50% for a culturable command area of 50000 ha, with duty 1000 ha/cumec. For transmission loss 10%, required canal-head discharge, to two decimals, is ______ cumec.

Correct answer: 27.00 to 28.00

Explanation

Irrigated area is $0.50(50000)=25000$ ha. Delivered flow is $25000/1000=25$ cumec. With 90% reaching the command, head discharge is $25/0.90=27.78$ cumec.
