A soil sampler has cutting-edge inside and outside diameters 80 and 100 mm, and sampling-tube inside and outside diameters 86 and 90 mm. Find outside clearance ratio (%), to two decimal places.

Explanation

Outside clearance is relative to the sampling tube’s outer diameter: $(100-90)/90\times100=$ **11.11%**. Inside diameters are used for inside clearance.
