A faulty clock gains 15 minutes every 24 hours. It is synchronized at 9 AM on 11 July. To the nearest minute, what is the correct time when it shows 2 PM on 15 July of the same year?

Explanation
The displayed clock runs at rate $1455/1440=97/96$ relative to true time. Its displayed elapsed time is 101 hours = 6060 min. True elapsed time is $6060(96/97)=5997.526$ min, 62.474 min less. Subtracting this from the displayed 2 PM gives approximately 12:58 PM (B).
