For the two-port circuit shown, find hybrid parameter h₂₂ (S).

Correct answer: 1.24 to 1.26

Explanation

By the hybrid definition I2=h21I1+h22V2, h22 is the output admittance with the input open, I1=0. Trace the wire crossovers: corresponding3Ωand2Ωbranches are in parallel, making aπnetwork with each arm3∥2=1.2Ω. Looking into port2 with port1open gives Rout=1.2∥(1.2+1.2)=0.8Ω. Thus **h22=1/0.8=1.25S**. Shorting the input would compute y22 instead.
