An LTI system has h[n]=[0,0.6,0.8,0.5,0.3,0] and input x[n]=[1,0.6,0,0,0,0], both indexed from n=0. Find the maximum output sample, rounded to one decimal place.

Correct answer: 1.1 to 1.2

Explanation

Convolution reduces to y[n]=h[n]+0.6h[n−1]. The successive nonzero samples are 0.6,1.16,0.98,0.60,0.18. Their maximum is 1.16, occurring at n=2. Rounded to one decimal place it is 1.2.
