Find the equivalent impedance ZAB of the shown network, in ohms to one decimal place. Each resistor is 1 Ω and the dependent voltage source equals the voltage V across the central resistor.
The dependent source forces the left upper node to the same voltage V as the central upper node. Therefore no current flows through the resistor joining those two nodes. Input current flows through the right-hand one-ohm resistor and central one-ohm resistor in series. Thus ZAB=2.0 Ω. The dependent source must remain active when finding this impedance.
