Three resistors are connected to ideal sources as shown: current source 1.2 A, voltage source 24 V, resistors 10 Ω,20 Ω,30 Ω. Find VAB in V.

Correct answer: (B) −10
Explanation
Choose B as zero. The twenty-four-volt source makes the left lower node −24 V. The twenty- and thirty-ohm resistors form a fifty-ohm branch from A to B. KCL at A gives (VA+24)/10+VA/50=1.2. Multiplying by fifty gives 6VA+120=60, so VA=−10 V. Hence VAB=−10 V, B.
