A circular sheet of paper is folded along the lines in the directions shown (first fold along the vertical diameter, then along the horizontal diameter, giving a quarter circle). The paper, after being punched in the final folded state as shown (a long rectangular slit near the vertical edge and a small square near the horizontal edge) and unfolded in the reverse order of folding, will look like ______.

  1. Four rectangular holes around the centre circle: horizontal long slits at top and bottom, small vertical slits at left and right
  2. Four rectangular holes: horizontal long slits at top and bottom, short horizontal slits at left and right
  3. Four rectangular holes: small horizontal slits at top and bottom, long vertical slits at left and right
  4. Four rectangular holes: small vertical slits at top and bottom, long vertical slits at left and right

Explanation

Unfolding reflects each punch across both fold lines. The long slit gives two mirrored long horizontal slits (top and bottom) and the small square gives two small vertical slits (left and right), as in option A.
