Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: 4.98 to 5.02

Explanation

Symmetry gives 5 kN vertical support reactions. At C, the vertical component of CD is 5 kN; its 45° inclination makes its horizontal component also 5 kN. Horizontal equilibrium gives **5.00 kN tension in BC**. BD is a zero-force member at the unloaded central joint.
