GATE 2024 IN – Question 41

Analog Electronics · Operational amplifiers and applications · 2 marks · Multiple choice

The opamps $A_1,A_2$ shown are ideal, except that $A_1$ has offset voltage $V_{OS}=1$ mV. For $V_{in}=0$ V, the output voltages $V_{out1},V_{out2}$, respectively, are

Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (A) 3 mV and −1 mV

Explanation

The depicted offset sets the shared summing node to +1 mV; A2’s inverting node is at zero. Its equal input and feedback resistors give $V_{out2}=-1$ mV. KCL at the shared node, in mV, is $(1-0)/R+(1-0)/R+(1-V_{out1})/R=0$, yielding $V_{out1}=3$ mV.

Answer: **A**.
