The modified Taylor law is $VT^nf^m=\text{constant}$, where speed V is m/s, life T is minutes, feed f is mm/rev, n = 0.25 and m = 0.5. Two conditions have equal tool life and V₁/V₂ = 2/3. Find f₁/f₂ (two decimals).

Explanation
Equal life cancels the T terms: $(V_1/V_2)(f_1/f_2)^{0.5}=1$. Hence $(f_1/f_2)^{0.5}=3/2$, giving **f₁/f₂ = 2.25**.
