Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: 0.918 to 0.938

Explanation

A parallel system fails only if every component fails. The joint failure probability is(1−0.4)(1−0.6)(1−0.5)(1−0.4)=0.072. Subtracting from 1 gives reliability 0.928. Multiplying the reliabilities directly would describe a series system.
